El yoga y la medicina conductual utilizan ejercicios de respiraci\u00f3n para abordar la ansiedad, la hiperventilaci\u00f3n, la depresi\u00f3n y la incapacidad para concentrarse (incluido el TDAH) en las terapias aplicadas al trauma. Los m\u00e9todos de respiraci\u00f3n de yoga particularmente han desarrollado m\u00e9todos complejos para modificar la conciencia y mejorar la salud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan los estudiosos del yoga del Siglo II a. C. \u00abSi controlas la respiraci\u00f3n, controlas la mente\u00bb. Tomar el control de la respiraci\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de ejercicios espec\u00edficos es fundamental para regular el sistema nervioso aut\u00f3nomo. El pranayama y otros ejercicios de respiraci\u00f3n proporcionan una base para el cuidado personal y la restauraci\u00f3n del ritmo. Incluso cuando la respiraci\u00f3n no es el objetivo de restaurar el ritmo ultradiano, un simple per\u00edodo de descanso de 20 a 40 minutos, 1 o 2 veces durante el d\u00eda, es regenerador. Este es el ciclo donde los hemisferios del cerebro se alternan entre la actividad y el reposo, y ocurre dentro del ritmo circadiano m\u00e1s grande de 24 horas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este ritmo corresponde a los cambios que ocurren cada 90-120 minutos donde se intercambia el dominio de los hemisferios, y estos cambios interact\u00faan con los cambios en el dominio nasal. Durante un ciclo de 90 minutos (ultradiano), un hemisferio del cerebro est\u00e1 m\u00e1s activo y la fosa nasal opuesta est\u00e1 m\u00e1s \u00ababierta\u00bb (menos congestionada) que el otro. Los m\u00edsticos hebreos lo llaman ruach, los chinos lo llaman chi y los griegos lo llaman pneuma (pneumon que significa pulmones).
